Crimea announces 1700 ha of gardens established

According to the Crimean Minister of agriculture Vladimir Anyukhin, pomaceous and stone-fruit tree orchards have been laid. Considerable budget funds are allocated for gardening support, with over 600 ha of gardens more to be established this year.

He added that a new cultivation focus area in the republic of Crimea is walnut cultivation, subsidised by the government. Around 600 ha are expected to be occupied by nut-tree orchards. Project for the development of walnut growing sector was prepared by the Crimean Chamber of Trade and Commerce in 2014. By estimates, the annual yield of nut crops accounts for 700k – 3m RUB per hectare.

It’s hardly surprising that there are loads of web ads on lands for planting nuts, for instance, in the Leninsky area cluster.
